For Connectr, this meant building platforms that not only meet enterprise-grade standards but also live up to the promise of inclusion - for every user, at every stage of the recruitment journey.
The client
Connectr Talent Technology is a UK-based recruitment marketing tech company on a mission to make a standout candidate experience from first look to first day. Their platforms, Connectr for Candidates and Connectr for Preboarding support organisations like Lloyds Banking Group, Marks & Spencer and Clifford Chance in delivering scalable human-first candidate experiences that combat soaring application volumes, high renege rates and workplace readiness issues.
The background
As Connectr scaled, so did the demands of their enterprise customers. With growing interest from large organisations - each with rigorous procurement and compliance requirements - two core challenges emerged:
First, the platform needed to meet robust security standards to protect sensitive user data and build trust with risk-conscious clients. Second, it had to deliver an inclusive user experience aligned with both WCAG accessibility standards and the DE&I commitments of their customers.
Compliance wasn’t optional - it was essential for sustainable growth. Just as important was the need to scale securely and inclusively - staying true to their mission of making mentoring accessible to everyone.
Our solution
We began working with Connectr in 2020, initially providing penetration testing to assess the security posture of their platforms. We identified vulnerabilities, prioritised them by risk, and collaborated closely with Connectr’s development team to resolve them - strengthening their platform’s resilience and supporting client confidence during procurement processes.
As our partnership developed, we expanded support to cover digital accessibility - performing comprehensive accessibility audits against WCAG standards. We worked side-by-side with Connectr’s product and engineering teams to identify and remove barriers such as inconsistent keyboard navigation, insufficient colour contrast, and gaps in screen reader compatibility. We also helped navigate the transition from WCAG 2.1 to the updated 2.2 guidelines, ensuring compliance with the latest accessibility requirements.
Aligning with Connectr’s product roadmap, we collaborated through monthly planning sessions and periodic audits - ensuring accessibility and security improvements kept pace with new features, client onboarding, and long-term product goals.
The impact
Our work directly supported Connectr’s ability to grow their enterprise client base. Helping them meet WCAG standards across key user journeys and demonstrate strong cyber resilience, enabled them to navigate complex procurement processes with greater confidence. This opened the door to larger, more regulated markets and high-value client engagements.
At the same time, the platform became genuinely more inclusive. Users with disabilities are now able to better access and navigate candidate journeys with fewer barriers, helping Connectr deliver on its DE&I promise not just in principle, but in practice.
By embedding accessibility and cyber security into the product experience, Connectr gained more than just compliance. They were able to strongly position their platform as both enterprise-ready and truly user-centric.
The outcome: a stronger market position, increased user satisfaction, and accelerated enterprise adoption.
An on-going partnership
Today, we continue to support Connectr through project-based testing, delivering regular accessibility audits and penetration testing. As the applications evolve and their client-base grows, our role remains the same: helping them deliver secure, inclusive experiences that empower people and unlock growth.
