We work with teams building digital health technology, as well as NHS and healthcare organisations putting it into practice.

Health tech companies

From patient portals and remote monitoring to digital diagnostics and clinical support tools, building for healthcare requires additional assurance. You may need to complete DTAC, support clinical safety assurance and provide independent evidence to healthcare customers as your product develops.

We work with teams at different stages of that process, from products preparing to enter the NHS to established health tech companies adapting and scaling what they already have.

NHS and healthcare organisations

New technology has to work in your environment, on your systems and devices, and for the people using it. That means looking beyond the supplier’s assurance and understanding how the product performs within your own service.

We work with NHS trusts, ICBs, healthcare providers and care networks that are introducing new technology and changing existing services, providing independent testing and evidence to support local assurance and delivery.

If you’re building, introducing or improving digital health technology and need support with testing and QA, talk to our healthcare team.

Building quality through every stage of digital health

Quality in digital health isn't something you consider once and move on from. It needs attention as technology is developed, assessed, introduced into healthcare environments and continues to evolve in use.

That means focusing testing and QA where it adds the most value, shaped by the risks, requirements and real-world environment around your technology.

Putting evidence behind assurance

When technology supports someone’s health or care, clinicians and patients need to be able to rely on it. Our functional testing focuses on the areas of greatest risk and impact, giving you clear, independent evidence to support DTAC assessment and wider clinical safety assurance.

As you move towards go-live, operational acceptance testing helps make sure your technology and the processes around it are ready for real-world use.

Protecting sensitive digital health data

Digital health services handle highly sensitive information across connected systems, devices and third parties. Understanding where security weaknesses exist and the risk they pose is an important part of protecting that data.

Our CREST-accredited penetration testing identifies vulnerabilities and assesses the risk, providing clear, independent evidence to support technical security requirements, including those within DTAC.

Connecting systems and services

Digital health rarely operates in isolation. Systems, services and devices need to connect, with data moving accurately and reliably between them. Our system integration testing looks at those connections end-to-end, across the systems, third-party platforms and environments your technology needs to work with.

When those systems are changing, data migration testing checks that important records have moved completely and accurately so new technology can be introduced without losing the integrity of the data it relies on.

Making digital health work for everyone

Accessibility is part of the minimum standards digital health technologies need to meet for use in the NHS and a regulatory requirement for public sector organisations. Our accessibility audits assess your compliance with the latest WCAG standards and can provide evidence against the usability and accessibility assessment criteria within DTAC.

But compliance is only part of the picture. Testing your technology with disabled users shows how it actually holds up for disabled people, uncovering barriers when accessing information, completing important tasks or using digital health services independently.

Supporting growth, scale and adoption

Getting digital health technology into use isn't the end of the job. As adoption increases, products evolve, integrations change, and the pace of new features and releases can increase.

We help you strengthen regression coverage and introduce test automation as your technology grows, building repeatable testing into your existing development and CI/CD processes so quality can remain part of faster, more frequent releases.

Our work with healthcare clients

We work with organisations across healthcare on digital products and services used by patients, healthcare professionals and teams delivering care. Our work spans new and established health technologies, as well as the systems and services they need to work alongside.

'I’ve worked with many other external QA companies, but they only do as they’ve been asked. Zoonou go way beyond that – they are proactive with suggestions and ideas on how to improve processes. That’s what makes this such a great partnership.'

- David Comer, Software Test Manager at Blatchford Prosthetics

Working alongside your team

We work alongside your teams and delivery partners, bringing additional QA capacity and specialist expertise when and where it’s needed. Our flexible delivery models mean we can support a specific piece of work or become part of your wider delivery team, combining experienced people with the tools and automation that help them work more effectively.

For NHS and public healthcare organisations, our services are also available through G-Cloud 15, providing a straightforward route to procurement.

Standards you can rely on

Our certifications and accreditations demonstrate recognised standards across quality and security, including:

ISO 9001 for independently assessed quality management processes and consistent service delivery.

ISO 27001 for managing information securely and protecting sensitive data.

Cyber Essentials Plus for independently verified cyber security controls.

CREST accreditation for penetration testing to internationally recognised technical and ethical standards.

'Zoonou have helped us to reduce our rework and increase our customer satisfaction levels as a result. By going above and beyond, Zoonou have become an invaluable partner to Fortrus.'

- Chris Edwards, Chief Technical Architect at Fortrus
